Every month I summarize some of the upcoming calls for entries for photographers, particularly those in Maine and New England, so please find below my list for February 2018.
This list is certainly not exhaustive and usually reflects ones of particular interest to me, but hopefully it will be helpful to many of you as well.
The BlackBox Gallery in Portland, OR has two upcoming calls… “Portraits: Image and Identity” due February 7th and “Taking Pictures: 2018” due March 8th. This gallery offers free printing and framing of selected work, keeping costs reasonable if you are selected.
The PhotoPlace Gallery in Vermont has a call for entry “Capturing the Light” due February 12th and another entitled “Celebrating Women” due March 12th. They offer free framing in standard sizes, too, to help minimize costs if selected.
Don’t Take Pictures magazine has a free call for entries for photographs of “Winter”, with entries due February 17th.
The Southeast Center for Photography has a call for entry entitled “The Still Life” due February 18th.
Center in Santa Fe has their annual batch of awards (as well as submissions for their juried portfolio review) all due February 28th.
The 11th Annual Julia Margaret Cameron Awards for women photographers are open now with entries due by February 28th.
The Maine Farmland Trust is accepting applications for their artist residency programs, with applications due March 1st.
The Center for Fine Art Photography in Ft. Collins, Colorado has one upcoming call: “Black and White 2018” due March 31st.
The Harlow Art Center in Hallowell, ME, is accepting entries for their 23rd annual juried show from Maine artists, with entries due April 1st.
The Still Point Art Gallery now has free submissions after moving to on-line only shows. You can see their calls here, starting with Still Point X due April 1st.
The CMCA in Rockland, ME is accepting entries for the next Biennial for all of you out there with Maine connections…entries will be accepted from until April 2nd.
