Every month I summarize some of the upcoming calls for entries for photographers, particularly those in Maine and New England, so please find below my list for March 2018.
This list is certainly not exhaustive and usually reflects ones of particular interest to me, but hopefully it will be helpful to many of you as well.
The BlackBox Gallery in Portland, OR has two upcoming calls…”Taking Pictures: 2018″ due March 8th and “Focus: Shadow and Light” due April 11th. This gallery offers free printing and framing of selected work, keeping costs reasonable if you are selected.
The Ellis-Beauregard Foundation has a new residency program at the Lincoln Street center in Rockland, ME, and submissions are due March 9th.
The Southeast Center for Photography has a call for entry entitled “Seasons” due March 11th and another entitled “Home” due April 8th.
The PhotoPlace Gallery in Vermont has a call for entry entitled “Celebrating Women” due March 12th and another entitled “Water” due April 9th. They offer free framing in standard sizes, too, to help minimize costs if selected.
Submissions are open to the Mohegan Artists’ Residency (for artists with ties to Maine), with entries due March 17th.
The Center for Fine Art Photography in Colorado has their next call up now. It is entitled “Black and White 2018” with entries due March 28th.
The New England School of Photography has a call up for their “This American Landscape” exhibition, with entries due March 29th.
The Harlow Art Center in Hallowell, ME, is accepting entries for their 23rd annual juried show from Maine artists, with entries due April 1st.
The Still Point Art Gallery now has free submissions after moving to on-line only shows. You can see their calls here, starting with Still Point X due April 1st.
The CMCA in Rockland, ME is accepting entries for the next Biennial for all of you out there with Maine connections…entries will be accepted from until April 2nd.
Boston’s PRC (now in Cambridge) has their 22nd Annual Juried Exhibition up now, with entries due April 8th.
The Fence has their annual outdoor photography exhibition call up, with entries due April 10th (and early bird on March 13th).
The Daylight Photo Awards (from Daylight Magazine) have their annual contest up, with entries due May 1st.
The San Francisco Bay International Photo Show is having an open submission, with entries due May 10th. This looks pretty interesting and I haven’t heard of it before, so I think it is new.
