Calls for Entries May 2019

It is time for my monthly summary of upcoming calls for entries for photographers, particularly those in Maine and New England, so please find below my list for May 2019.

This list is certainly not exhaustive and usually reflects ones of particular interest to me, but hopefully it will be helpful to many of you as well.

The Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, CO, has their next call for entry open, entitled “In Relation to Land” and juried by Dr. Rebecca Senf, with submissions due May 1st as well as another call, entitled “Black and White 2019” and due June 2nd.

The New York Center for Photographic Art has their next call up, entitled “Trees” and due May 5th.

The BlackBox Gallery in Portland, OR has one upcoming call…”Color Burst: A Picture Show” due May 10th.  This gallery offers free printing and framing of selected work, keeping costs reasonable if you are selected.

The San Francisco Bay International Photography Exhibition (part of the SF Bay Month of Photography) is accepting entries for its annual exhibition, with entries due May 15th.

The Daylight Photo Awards are now accepting entries for their 2019 awards, with entries due May 15th.

KlompChing Gallery has their annual Fresh 2019 exhibition coming up, and is accepting submissions until May 22nd.

Lenscratch has their next free online exhibition running now, entitled “Photographs in Conversation” and with entries due May 23rd.

The PhotoPlace Gallery in Vermont has a call for entry entitled “Water 2019” due May 27th. They offer free framing in standard sizes, too, to help minimize costs if selected.

The Aaron Siskind Individual Photographers Fellowship Grant is accepting applications for its $15,000 grant, with entries due May 31st.

The Photo Review has their 35th Annual International Photography Competition coming up, and entries are due May 31st.

The Print Center has their 94th Annual International Competition coming up, and entries are due June 14th.

The Maine Arts Commission has is now accepting applications for Maine Artist Fellowships (due June 20th).

The New York Center for Photographic Art has their next call up, entitled Dusk to Dawn, and with entries due June 23rd.

Submissions will be open from June 15th-July 15th for the 2019 Arnold Newman Prize for New Directions in Photographic Portaiture. The award includes a $20,000 prize.

The Davis Orton Gallery in Hudson, NY, has a long line-up of upcoming calls for entries, ranging from group exhibitions to photobook competitions, and I encourage you to take a look at their many options.
