Every month I summarize some of the upcoming calls for entries for photographers, particularly those in Maine and New England.
This list is certainly not exhaustive and usually reflects ones of particular interest to me, but hopefully it will be helpful to many of you as well.
The BlackBox Gallery in Portland, OR has two upcoming calls…first up is “Framed: Shadow and Light” due November 9th and next up is “Camera Work: Dynamic Landscape” due December 7th. This gallery offers free printing and framing of selected work, keeping costs reasonable if you are selected.
The Southeast Center for Photography has a call for entry entitled “Monochrome” due November 13th and another entitled “Red” due December 4th.
The Vermont PhotoPlace Gallery has a call for entries entitled Still Life: “The Ordinary Made Extraordinary” due November 14th and another entitled “Composed” due December 12th. They offer free framing in standard sizes, too, to help minimize costs if selected.
The Print Center has their 91st Annual International Competition coming up, with entries due November 15th, 2016.
Don’t Take Pictures online magazine has their next free call for entries up, this one entitled “Masks” and due November 20th.
The New York Center for Photographic Art has their next call for entries …it is entitled “Primary Colors 2016″ and due December 18th, 2016.
Black & White Magazine has their annual portfolio contest, with entries due December 31st, 2016.
PhotoSpiva 2016 has now been announced, with entries due January 1st, 2017. I’ve been in this one before and I think it is a good one.
SohoPhoto Gallery has their 2017 International Portfolio Competition up now, with entries due January 7th, 2016, and their 2017 International Krappy Kamera Competition up, too, with entries due the next day on January 8th.
