Calls for Entries October 2019

It is pat time for my monthly summary of upcoming calls for entries for photographers, particularly those in Maine and New England, so please find below my list for October 2019. I’m a bit late this month as I’m on the road out west and the Internet connections have been pretty spotty.

This list is certainly not exhaustive and usually reflects ones of particular interest to me, but hopefully it will be helpful to many of you as well.

Good luck!

The BlackBox Gallery in Portland, OR has two upcoming calls… “Framed: Portrait Photography” due October 10th and “Vision: Color Photography” due November 8th.  This gallery offers free printing and framing of selected work, keeping costs reasonable if you are selected.

The PhotoPlace Gallery in Vermont has a call for entry entitled entitled “Childhood” due October 14th and another entitled “Abstraction” due November 11th. They offer free framing in standard sizes, too, to help minimize costs if selected.

Lensculture Magazine has their next call up, the Black & White Photography Awards. You can submit a series of images until October 16th. Lensculture does give a free short review of each paid submission, a nice perk.

Lenscratch, the online photography portal, has their next free call up, entitled “Dogs” and due October 16th.

The Southeast Center for Photography has their next call posted, entitled “Portals” and due November 10th.

The New York Center for Photographic Art has their next call up, entitled “Patterns and Shadows” and due November 10th.

The Ellis-Beauregard Foundation is offering (for Maine visual artists) both project grants of $5,000 and a direct fellowship of $25,000, both due November 15th.
