I’ve been wrestling with this for a while, but I’ve included below a baker’s dozen of my favorite images of mine from 2012. This list is subject to change — every day I seem to have new favorites. I thought it would be fun, though, to at least put a stake in the ground with my favorites as of this moment.
I’d love to hear from readers as to which of these (or others) they prefer themselves. And speaking of my readers, I’d also like to do a post of YOUR favorite image of your own (photograph or other visual art) from 2012 – drop me a note and a jpeg at least 600 pixels wide by January 18th, and I’ll include the image and a link to your website (if you’d like) in an upcoming post.

And now for the 13 favorites, in no particular order…first up, Milk Moon I, an unplanned shot taken from halfway up Cadillac Mountain when my planned shot from the top of Cadillac Mountain became impossible due to my camera, myself, and indeed the entire top of the mountain being surrounded by a large, fluffy cloud.
Next up, three from my Pyrotechnic series…it was particularly hard choosing just a few from this group…
I’m very excited about the direction of my Nightfall series, and many of those could have easily made this list — for now, I’ll limit myself to three of them:
I still do take landscapes that aren’t at night, too! Two of my favorites from this last year are below – one from Acadia National Park, one from Lily Bay State Park.
