Every month I summarize some of the upcoming calls for entries for photographers, particularly those in Maine and New England. Things are starting to pick up again now that summer is over. (And, speaking of, for those in the U.S., have a great holiday weekend!).
This list is certainly not exhaustive and usually reflects ones of particular interest to me for the most part, but hopefully it will be helpful to many of you as well.
The Garrison Art Center in Garrison, NY, has a call for entry for their “Small Works” exhibition up, with entries due September 5th.
The BlackBox Gallery in Portland, OR has two upcoming calls…first up is “Focus: Black and White” due September 7th, and next is “Photo Shoot 2016” due October 7th. This gallery offers free printing and framing of selected work, keeping costs reasonable if you are selected.
The Center for Fine Art Photography in Ft. Collins, CO, has their next call for entry up — it is entitled “Portraits 2017” and entries are due September 7th.
The Vermont PhotoPlace Gallery has a call for entries entitled “Personal Narrative” and due September 12th. They offer free framing in standard sizes, too, to help minimize costs if selected.
The USA Landscape Photographer of the Year award has submissions due September 15th.
The International Color Awards, seemingly one of the bigger online contests, has their annual awards open now with entries due September 30th.
The Arnold Newman Prize has their next iteration coming up, with entries due October 14th. A great contest for you portrait photographers out there (with a $20,000 grand prize!)…
Black & White Magazine has their annual photo contest coming up, with entries due October 31st, 2016, as well as their annual portfolio contest due December 31st, 2016.
The New York Center for Photographic Art has their next call for entries up after a summer break…it is entitled “Primary Colors 2016″ and due December 18th, 2016.
